Dialysis Modalities for the Treatment of End-Stage Kidney Disease

Published on: October 17, 2017
Project Number: OP0526-000
Product Line: Optimal Use
Result type: Report

CADTH undertook a health technology assessment (HTA) to inform decision-making about the appropriate use of dialysis modalities for the treatment of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD). The HTA addressed the clinical effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, patient experiences and perspectives, ethical issues, and implementation issues of dialysis modalities for the treatment of ESKD. Optimal use recommendations were developed based on the evidence presented in the HTA.

The project has three key components:

  • Protocol
  • Science report
  • Recommendations report
