Guidelines for the Economic Evaluation of Health Technologies: Canada

CADTH has developed economic guidelines to help standardize and facilitate the economic evaluation of health technologies in Canada.

In Canada, the economic evaluation of health technologies is an accepted component of health technology assessment. Economic evidence is an important consideration in the formulation of health technology policies, practices, and reimbursement decisions.

The guidelines detail best practices for conducting economic evaluations. They reflect current practices and promote the use of high-quality economic evaluations to inform health care decision-making. In particular, the guidelines are intended to help produce credible and standardized economic information that is relevant and useful to decision-makers in Canada’s public health care system.
